My transdisciplinary research examines social repair after natural disasters in Northern Pakistan and Kashmir. I explore the social labor undertaken by disaster survivors to reconcile the betrayals implicit in their social and natural worlds with the protective guarantees they previously offered. I work with reflexive and aesthetically engaged research methods and the opportunities they provide for accessing lived and felt experiences. Prior to UBC, I worked with the international humanitarian system and various policy and research organizations on disaster recovery.
